    Adaptability Statement
    30 out of 30 points
The nonprofit has an opportunity to tell the story of how the organization adapted to tremendous external changes in the last year.
Jewish Voice has been building solid working relationships with in-country staff and ministry partners since we started working in each country, which enabled us to continue reaching people in Ethiopia and Zimbabwe during the pandemic even while not being able to travel to these countries. COVID provided the opportunity for us to empower the in-country staff and partners to conduct the work themselves, with Jewish Voice’s model and financial resources, and provided new possibilities for future changes, ultimately enabling the in-country staff to become self-sufficient in serving the people in their communities. In addition, Jewish Voice typically does not distribute food on our Outreaches; however, due to the pandemic, our ministry partners in Zimbabwe expressed the desperate need for food. Once the country opened later in 2020, Jewish Voice was able to mobilize quickly and provide food to 3,110 households in the regions in which we typically conduct our Medical Outreaches. This encouraged our leadership to revise our standard operation of providing medical care and access to clean water to consider other needs of the areas in which we are going. We are now looking into new regions and determining the largest needs of those communities and adapting our Outreaches to be more than Medical. Our Outreaches will now focus on the primary need of the community – whatever that may be.
