Highly rated charities involved in humanitarian relief, recovery, and peace-building efforts

List of Ukraine Relief and Recovery Charities

The conflict in Ukraine, now entering its fourth year, has created a severe humanitarian crisis, affecting millions both within the country and beyond. Approximately 10.6 million Ukrainians have been displaced since the war began, and an estimated 12.7 million people require humanitarian assistance in 2025. The destruction of critical infrastructure has left many without access to essential services, including water, electricity, heating, stable housing, healthcare, and education.

The international community has mobilized to address what has become the largest refugee crisis in Europe since World War II, with far-reaching humanitarian and economic consequences. Despite significant aid efforts, ongoing donor support is crucial to assist those affected by this crisis.

Our expert analysts have compiled a list of highly-rated 501(c)(3) organizations that are continuing to provide immediate and long-term assistance to those in Ukraine and the surrounding regions.

If you are a U.S.-registered 501(c)(3) charity with a 3- or 4-star Charity Navigator rating and are responding to this disaster/crisis, please complete and submit this survey, and our curation team will review.

Since the war began between Ukraine and the Russian Federation on February 24, 2022, according to a report released in June by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), over 7 million people have been displaced – almost 5 million of which have been recorded across Europe.

What has been reported as the largest refugee crisis since World War II has become a far-reaching humanitarian disaster threatening economies across Europe. This crisis includes rising inflation and shortages of food and other goods. Donor support is still needed for relief and recovery efforts, but that need will eventually shift to the long-term rebuilding of Ukraine's economy and infrastructure.
